A Big Win with the Teachers in South Africa | calvin reed

Today the South Africa team finished the second of three educational workshops at Amstelhof Primary School. Today’s presentation was given by Jennifer Parks (Phd candidate with the College of Education, Special Education Dept.). She spent the better part of the afternoon introducing the Amstelhof faculty to new concepts and approaches that they could explore to enhance the learning climate within their respective classes. The teachers and administrators at the school were grateful to have the opportunity to speak with a special education teacher because they currently lack the training and external resources to effectively reach their students that exhibit special needs. Jennifer just arrived in South Africa yesterday and had to be brought up to speed very quickly in order to give her presentation today. Despite this challenge she managed to lead a terrific discussion and we could not be more proud of the effort she put forth.
